Introduction

Hello everyone who is reading this post, or perusing my website! I hope you are all having an amazing day, and if you are not, I hope it starts looking up from here!

Most of you are probably thinking: “Who is this guy?", and “What is his blog going to be about?” I will do my best to answer all of this in this initial post.

Who Am I?

I have been working with computers since I was a child, having been introduced to them by my parents when I was around five years old. My first experience with computers is probably my most memorable one, as I did not get to actually use the computer. Instead, I, along with my sisters, was allowed to take it apart. Starting from the case, we removed the cables attached to the motherboard; removed the floppy disk drive (yes, those were a thing when I was a child); the 10 gigabyte (GB) hard disk drive (HDD) (that is even smaller than the amount of space on my mobile phone); the RAM chips (I do not recall how much memory was available, but it would have been in the megabytes back then); and, finally, the motherboard itself was removed from the case (the processor was never removed from the motherboard during this operation.)

Once all the components were removed from the case, I (my sisters had already left the computer at this point) wanted to take a look inside the hard drive. Our new computer had had a big upgrade from the old 10GB HDD to a new 20GB HDD, so I figured at the time that it would not be an issue if the 10GB HDD were, in some words, put out of commission. As we did not have the appropriate tools to open the hard drive, I had decided to take a screwdriver and pry it open. At the time, I never understood why my father got upset when he realized that I had destroyed the hard drive. Now, having four hard drives in one of my own computers, it makes sense to me.

Today, I do not deal so much with taking apart computers as I do in the software that is run on the hardware. I can be found working on my build tool; making games in game jams; playing games; reading a textbook as light reading, or any other book that I find interesting; or playing with my two dogs.

What Is This Blog Going To Be About?

The majority of the posts will be on topics of programming and mathematics. These may range from simple tutorials to in-depth analyses of topics. A few of them will be on various build tools, how to use them, why they (build tools) are useful, or some other shenanigans involving build tools. There will be posts that I do just because I want to do them (is that not all of the posts?) even if their topics have been covered one million and one times.

Goodbye and Hello

Hopefully you have made it this far! If you have, thank you! I will be posting a lot more content soon to come! I wish you all a great 2019 and Happy New Year!
